Hope You Had a Great Mother's Day !!!

Comments:
Thanks so much for getting back to me! Isn't blogging great. By the way, I love your politics. I'm not a great Clinton fan either.
We are truly grateful that we are able to homeschool our son. Our daughter, who has suffered from clinical depression since Jr. High, would have benefited so much from this experience. Unfortunately that wasn't an option back then either.
I can only IMAGINE the tough time you had with TS when you were growing up. Up here in northern Minnesota NOBODY understands what our son is going through. I'm trying to educate anybody that will listen, or read, about TS and all that it entails.
Do you have any co-morbid disorders? If so, how did you work around them? We need study skills that will help our son stay focused. He's highly intelligent with a great sense of humor and a giving heart. It really tore us apart watching his ego being stomped into the ground by bullies and teachers alike!
In answer to your question; Z's paternal grandmother is schizophrenic, his sister and maternal grandmother have clinical depression. After Z was diagnosed, we finally figured out what was wrong with his Dad. My husband has always rocked and jiggled. My parents didn't want me to marry him because they were CERTAIN that he was on drugs!! I always assumed that these behaviors could be traced back to his deplorable childhood. I assumed that he rocked to comfort himself, because nobody ever comforted him when he was a child. After Z was diagnosed and I started researching TS, it hit us all like a bolt of lighning: Dad has TS too!
Our son's tics have never been disabling (so far) and we just accept them as part of the kid we love. His co-morbid ADD, OCD, and Executive Dysfunction are another story. These have proved quite disabling as far as his education is concerned. We're trying to find ways around this and would appreciate any tips you could share.
Keep in touch! It's been so much fun meeting all the bloggers that I have met.

Almost forgot! I'm an only child too. We've got quite a bit in common. I'd love to discuss Heinlein with you sometime. I want my husband to put our favorite Heinlein quote on my blog for me. HTML is Greek to me and my husband is the computer whiz in the family.
